Forecast For Gasoline Prices This Summer

The average cost of a gallon of gasoline decreased a wee bit from record levels Tuesday and gave some consumers a small break, but but the government curtailed the celebration by announcing that gasoline prices could rise as high as $4 per gallon this Summer.
Meanwhile, the oil industry was negatively impacted from news in Iran re equipment testing for uranium enrichment which could lead to political ramifications that would also effect the price of oil

The agency also predicted that gasoline consumption will fall during the peak Summer months due to the rise in prices which will come about because of increased useage during the Summer months. The agency previously said petroleum consumption would rise by 40,000 barrels a day.
Consumption has already gone down for the first time in decades with the decrease increasing since the start of the year.
The chilling effect certainly has something to do with the fact that gasoline prices are 55 cents higher than this time last year
The primary reason for the increase in cost of gasolineoline is the cost of a barrel of crude oil which just yesterday rose above $112! And one of the reasons for that increase is the rapid decline of the US dollar.
